La Bocca (Whistler)
The worst restaurant I've ever been to!!!
Terrible service. It took the server 40 min to deliver our drinks, in about 20 more min we got our appetizers and 2 people !!! got their mains. In another 30 min, the waiter delivered the rest of the food. We were super hungry and super angry by that time!! My friend said that it was the smallest steak he'd ever had and he paid 34$ for it. My veggies were undercooked, the mashed potato was barely warm and the schnitzel was quite dry. We ended up paying $150 for 3 people for absolutely nothing. My friend paid $110 for two entrees and couple beers. This happened on the long weekend; according to the waitress, they were understaffed and this was the cause of the problems. But i don't understand how it should be my problem...

Dubh Linn Gate (Whistler)
best breakfast in town!
My friends and I headed out to the mountain early and we stopped in at the dubh linn gate for breakfast. Perfect location right at the bottom of the gondolas, we didnt need to walk far after we ate. I've eaten at a few other places for breakfast in whistler and this restaurant tops them all by far. really friendly and attentive service, food was SO fast & everything was cooked to perfection. The place is big you can really spread out from other people and theres anough room for big groups of people. This place seems like it would have an amazing atmosphere at night.

Araxi Restaurant + Bar (Whistler)
Excellent!
I took my new wife to Araxi for the 1st night of our honeymoon. I chose Araxi after researching restaurants in Whistler on the internet and they didn't dissapoint. The food and service was excellent. Every dish I had made my mouth water and tasted sublime. I'd eat there everynight if I could afford it!

Edgewater Restaurant (Whistler)
Great View - Terrible food - Bad service
The view over the lake and up to the mountains from the restaurant is breath taking. The rest, however, is jaw droppingly bad. I recently went to Edgewater Lodge with my wife. The night was a special supirise for her on our honeymoon. Initially the service was good and the staff were friendly. As soon as a larger group came in it was like we didn't exist. All three service staff were hovering around any table with a group of more than 4, obviously hoping for a large tip at the expense of all the other guests in the restaurant. When the food came was when the night really went bad. My sea food chowder (I heard at least 3 different explanations for the style of chowder it was by the staff) was...... ok. Very average, a bit bland and to be honest I could have made much better myself at home. The worst part of all was the duck I had for mains. At ordering I was asked how I would like it cooked. As duck is a personal favourite and something I enjoy a lot back home in the UK I went for rare as I like it good and pink. When I got my shriveled up bit of meat it was totally unedible, cooked untill it was dry. I complained and the waitress took it back and agreed to replace it for me. The replacement came and it was better, but nowhere near how I had asked for it to be cooked. Half the breast was edible but the other half tasted like out of date, over cooked liver. The desert was a dissapointment too. On their menu and website the big up the deserts. They really shouldn't. It tasted fine but I've had better at Weatherspoons (for anyone not from the UK Weatherspoons is a large chain of pubs offering cheap and cheerfull food) back home. Overall the whole experiance is one I'd rather forget. I certantly won't be going back there, and any one who actually enjoys good food, I encourage you to stay away too.

Players Chophouse (Whistler)
My local
I've been in whistler sinse february this year and made several visits to the chop house in that time as its just across the road from where I live. Although its a steak house - and cooks a really good prime rib (you need to be hungry to order this), its also got a great selection if you fancy a lighter bite to eat, the apertisers and especially the duck breast with poached pears and salad, this is delicious! The place also has great deals for locals, pizza and beer night for $10 is becoming my affordable weekly meal out. If you want to lounge and chill there is an upstairs bar with huge TV screens to watch almost any game you fancy, but for the more formal night (out with the girls/lads or someone special) its got a large restaurant area downstairs. Only down side is when they have live music, its always great but usually super loud, dont take a date to this night, you wont get much conversation in :) but the staff are all really friendly and always happy to see a familiar face!

Players Chophouse (Whistler)
Great Value!
My wife and I recently bought a place in Creekside and were looking through the Pique for a good spot to eat that is close. We saw that the Chophouse was offering a 4 course menu which includes a drink. We called in to find out what was on the menu and were suprised that they were offering choices like pork tenderloin, caeser salad and chocolate mousse. We made a reservation and had a great night! We will definately be coming back to the Chophouse next time we are up.
