They asked for tips

Oh the dirty dirty look from the girls, I know what you are talking about - to the writer of "they accuse you of stealing" That's because they gave me that look too! Reason being: I did not tip them enough. My side of story: the girls were slow, unfriendly. I enjoyed the noodles, but such an unpleasant dining experience. So guess what? I don't leave a generous tip. Last time I check, this still was an legitimate reason for not leaving fat tips. Has it changed? So the girls and the cashier all gave us that dirty dirty look. My oh my, I guess I offended them big time. By trying to explain to them, I guess I offended them even more. The cashier told us, and I quote, "don't you ever come back again if you don't tip more!" Verdict: He was right, we will never go back, and neither do our friends nor families. Apparently, the girls and the oldie cashier are quite famous in Vancouver for their classless act.

They accuse you of stealing!

Went here on the weekend as it was close by  the Cambie Street Fair. I took out a warm unopened bottle of water in my bag and placed it on the table. Waitress took our order and when she brought the food back, she said "did you take this from our cooler?" I replied, no I brought it from home. She then went to check the cooler...and gave me a really dirty look when she talked with the other waitresses. I told her look, this bottle is warm and your water is cold...but she just walked away rudely.

Noodles were overcooked too, btw.

I recently went back to this restaurant and tried it out.  I had the lamb cutting noodle and my friend had the beef cutting noodle.  They are both very good.  We also had the Spicy Beef Lung.  OMG! I like it!!! I don't eat spicy food very often, but it was JUST so good that I almost wanted to order another dish.  I will definitely go back again!! :-)

This place is great - nothing fancy, not that clean but outstanding food! We have been regulars for the past few years and have never had a disappointing meal. This a great place for any eater as you get to choose your style of noodle (round, thick, flat, thin, short or long) and then you choose your broth as well as topping. The broth is a nice clear, light non greasy broth and the toppings are always fresh.  A few highlights:

Green Onion Pancake - perfect started to any meal and only $2.50

Garlic Fried Broccoli or Spinach - another great started $5.95

Pan Fried Dumplings - outstanding, but very filling. A must to share unless you want to take home some for later 12 pcs for $5.95

Any noodle soup in broth is always a good choice for those cold rainy nights they range in price from $4.95 - $7.95

Curried Fried Noodles - (not is broth) choise of Vegetable, tofu, chicken, pork, tripe or beef. This is a large dish a perfect for sharing $7.95

Another highlight is the fried tofu (ma po tofu -hot) served with rice for $6.55.

They also offer take out and any of the non soup dishes are great to take home and eat.

A must, and one of the best noodle spots in town- open 7 days aweek for dinner and every day for lunch (except Tuesday)

This is one AMAZING restaurant. Great deal and very authentic northern Chinese cuisine.  I was in Beijing earlier this year and they serve the same food.  So good.  Four of us managed to slip in right before closing and dinner costed $40!! and we still packed half the meal to go!! Dishes to try are:

Cutting noodles in soup w/ lamb:  these are the neatest noodles.  The chef takes a block of dough and you watch him scrape the noodles off one at a time as they fly into the pot of boiling soup.  the soup is a clear broth that soaks up the lamb taste.  Lots of cilantro for extra flavouring... so good, drooling as I'm typing.

Flat Clear Rice Noodles in peanut sauce w/ cucumber & chicken:  Not exactly sure I got the name of the dish right... These noodles are served cold. They're great for the summer (but I'll even eat them in the winter)  The noodles are like vermicelli, only they're wide and flat.  They are mixed with a little vineagar and soy sauce and peanut sauce.  They throw in shredded cucumber and chicken.  Great refreshing taste.

Deep fried steamed buns w/ condensed milk:
Technically everything tastes good with condensed milk, but this is an awesome treat.  Soft steamed bread with a gold brown crispy shell... yumm... you might want to ask for more condensed milk... and do try not to double dip... it's rude!

This place gets super busy for lunch and whatnot all the time.  Definitely one of the best Chinese restaurants outside of Richmond area.
