I've been in whistler sinse february this year and made several visits to the chop house in that time as its just across the road from where I live.  Although its a steak house - and cooks a really good prime rib (you need to be hungry to order this), its also got a great selection if you fancy a lighter bite to eat, the apertisers and especially the duck breast with poached pears and salad, this is delicious! The place also has great deals for locals, pizza and beer night for $10 is becoming my affordable weekly meal out.

If you want to lounge and chill there is an upstairs bar with huge TV screens to watch almost any game you fancy, but for the more formal night (out with the girls/lads or someone special) its got a large restaurant area downstairs.

Only down side is when they have live music, its always great but usually super loud, dont take a date to this night, you wont get much conversation in :) but the staff are all really friendly and always happy to see a familiar face!

Great Value!

My wife and I recently bought a place in Creekside and were looking through the Pique for a good spot to eat that is close.  We saw that the Chophouse was offering a 4 course menu which includes a drink.  We called in to find out what was on the menu and were suprised that they were offering choices like pork tenderloin, caeser salad and chocolate mousse.  We made a reservation and had a great night!  We will definately be coming back to the Chophouse next time we are up.

New Years Eve!
-
(2/5/2010 9:16:29 AM)

An amazing night had at the Players Chophouse!

Un-organised as we are, my girlfriend and I left it til the last minute to make plans. Obviously its newyears eve and everywhere was fully booked including this restaurant. After 2 hours of trying to find a table in Whistler... Chophouse called, offering us a cancelation... great news because our evening was looking like a takeaway pizza!

We arrived a little early and had a cocktail on the sofa by the fire which was a nice start to the night. The hostess kept us updated and we were sat in at a small table with great views of the mountain and with the open kitchen layout they have we could even see our steaks getting cooked, which were amazing! It was extremely busy but the service was still great. A great atmosphere, then after our meal we joined everyone in the lounge area upstairs to see the newyear through. All in all, a surprisingly fun and enjoyable night!

Top stag night!

(8/14/2009 2:21:08 PM)
My friend held his stag weekend in Whistler and one evening we made reservations at Player's (very late notice). Considering it was a friday night, the restaurant was really busy and there were 18 of us, the hostess was very accommodating! Most of us went for steak, ribeye was spot on. The service was amazing, especially dealing with our unexpected big group. After our meal we headed up to the lounge upstairs and had a few more beverages, all in all, a great night.

Loved it!

I came across the chophouse when driving to Whistler, it was positioned right on the highway. There was a live band playing on the patio and the atmosphere seemed really vibrant so i took my daughter in for dinner later on in the week. There was a special on at the time in the lounge, a 'crab smash'. It turned out to be a really fun evening. We got a big bucket of crab each with other seafood and corn etc and drank a few martinis. Service was great and everything was surprisingly reasonably priced... what i thought would be an expensive evening turned out to be relatively cheap! Would definitely recommend this place.

I recently holidayed in Whistler and was staying in the village. We decided to take a bike ride to Creekside to see what was there and ended up at the Players Chophouse were we had a few drinks on the patio and later got some food. We were very impressed, nice food, good atmosphere. We came back for an evening meal a few days later and sat in the lounge area upstairs, the steaks were amazing and they also had a 4 course special on for $35. By the end of the meal we were so full and thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Service was amazing too. Will definately go back if i ever make it back to Whistler!!! **!
