Mad Greek Restaurant
(11/21/2005 6:16:57 PM)
they had a hot server when i was there, but the food poritons were dissapointing and fairly pricey. i believe it was 14 or 15 for the roast lamb, whereas stephos and other greek places it's about 10-12

worst was that the portion was quite small, half the size of stephos

i personally wouldnt go back, but maybe im a big eater

Samba Brazillian Steak House
(11/21/2005 6:13:55 PM)
absolutely amazing food. they bring the meat to your table on a huge skewer, chop it off (as much as you want, all you can eat) on your plate.

for lunch, meats are basic: ham, beer, chicken, sausage, short ribs *huge! about 2.5 inch cube!)
for dinner, much more exotic meats complement the above: ostrich, venison, buffalo, veal, bacon wrapped chicken breast

the "salad" bar is really good too and usually also has warm pasta (sometimes with meat/shrimp etc) and there is a black bean stew/soup with tender ass pieces of beef

cheap for lucnh all you can eat, 12 or 14, expensive for dinner , around 25-27

highly recommended, went here for my graduation dinner.

Hon's Wun Tun House (Richmond)

comparable to restaurant #9. lots of food, cheap, fast. flavour is usually lacking. i'd consider it the mcdonalds of chinese food - in and out in 20 mins.

Memphis Blues Barbecue House
(11/21/2005 6:07:17 PM)
wow, first time i had this type of food. i'm a big eater, so i think it would only take two of us to finish the 30 dollar platter.

i heard it gets really busy and it can be brutal to find seating, but go for lunch and you're fine.

Aji Taro

great quality food. dinner menu is amazing, and cheaper than most at 18.99.

for late night, expect a line and terrible service. going for lunch on weekend (for all you can eat) is same price as late night, same food, but way less busy and much better service.

notorious for giving you as much food as they want, not as much as you order...

i find however that they have the best quality sushi in richmond and their special house roll is amazing (tons of meat, just a bit of rice, tuna + salmon + imitation crab)

Kisha Poppo Japanese Restaurant
(11/21/2005 6:03:27 PM)
poor service, worst japanese experience i've ever had in the lower mainland. california rolls are a joke (and the benchmark for measuring a restaurants sushi in my opinion) its just the stick of imitation crab with mayo squirting all over the place. terriaki seems to be microwaved, the chicken is cold and chewy.

go elsewhere.

Stepho's Greek Taverna
(11/21/2005 6:00:56 PM)
wicked restaurant.

however, its too damn busy at dinner and you can't make reservations (unless party of 5 or greater)

hint: go for lunch instead, no lineups

personally, i can't think of any food on earth worth that kind of wait, i'd rather just go for lunch.
